Arduino pseudocode:
# Define the pins for each sensor.
# Define the pin for the buzzer.
# Define the frequencies of the notes to be played by the buzzer.
# Define the distance range from the sensor.
Fetch distance from the first sensor.
If out of the defined range, skip to second sensor.
Else:
Go through the ranges, find in what range the distance falls.
Play the range's corresponding note on the buzzer.
Delay.
Move on to fetch distance from second sensor.
If out of the defined range, skip to third sensor.
Else:
Go through the ranges, find in what range the distance falls.Play the range's corresponding note on the buzzer.
Delay.
Move on to fetch distance from second sensor. If out of the defined range, loop back to first.
Else:
Go through the ranges, find in what range the distance falls.Play the range's corresponding note on the buzzer.
Delay.
Loop back to first sensor.

The MDF wasn't strong enough to drill through

This time with an eucalyptus trunk

3D printing

OH MY GOD
it actually worked.

Final Thoughts:
Gramophone: Again, MDF wasn't the best material for the task. Luckily Pinchas found an eucalyptus trunk.
Having a better understanding of the robotic arm would have directed our design of the gramophone more accurately. Thanks again to Pinchas for the patience in helping us to understand the machine and adapting our design for it.
Electronics: The sensors' range was a lot smaller than we expected since humans turned out to be tricky targets for it. The total space for interaction was therefore smaller than we had hoped, but we're still proud of it.
A great solder saves a lot of time!
